Valentine's Day Mini Book

Ok... I know I'm a few days late on Valentine's day, but I actually made this last week for another challenge at myscraproom.ning.com. Gina hosts a challenge every week that range from making cards and layouts to altering items and a little mixed media! It's a really great way to bring you out of your shell and get you to try new things :)
So the cool thing about this mini book is that it's made out of just one sheet of 12x12 paper. You can find the tutorial for it right here. The tags I used for this projects are free downloadables that you can find here (because who doesn't like cute free tags?). Here's another link to another page full of free printables, they're all just so cute! And of course there's always tons more, but I think that's enough to help you make a cute little project of your own!
Here's just a basic list of the things I used in my project in case you were wondering:
-flowers
-lace
-ribbons
-charms
-baker's twine
-buttons
-chipboard, layered, and die-cut embellishments
-alphas

Tools:
-paper trimmer
-scoring board
-ruler
-scissors
-adhesive
-tab punch
-circle punch

-angle punch (We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper - Angle/Photo)

So there you go! I hope you like it! *sigh* let's see how long I can keep up with regularly posting this time around... Maybe one day I'll get around to making my very first YouTube video lol.

File Folder Project

This is for a challenge hosted by Gina over at myscraproom.ning.com. I had a lot of fun with it! I'm not really sure what I'll ever use this project for, but I love looking at it lol. It also finally gave me a chance to use one of the BG layout kits I bought at Ross last year. I'm not sure why I bought them in the first place (I never make 12x12 layouts, I'm not so fond of large albums). But they were a couple dollars each and I couldn't resist lol.

Here's a list of supplies: -Basic Grey Page Kit - Out of Print
-My Mind's Eye Lime Twist - Life of the Party 6x6 pad (one sheet to make the envelope)
-My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two - Blush "Beautiful Girl" label stickers
-My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline - Howdy Doody "Baby" label stickers and journal card
-Crafter's Cafe Coordinating Embellishments - Swirl (bows, buttons, and rhinestones)
-Tim Holtz hinge clips
-Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean
-K&Company SMASH tape - Black Dots
-Fiskars Keepsake Pockets - large pocket
-American Crafts baker's twine - light blue, light pink
-Recollection Bling on a Roll - pink
-brads

Tools:
-paper trimmer
-scoring board

-ruler
-scissors
-adhesive
-pop dots
-corner rounder
-inking tool
-Studio Calico Huey's Masks - hexagon mask, chevron mask
-We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper - Angle/Photo
-Quick Grip All-Purpose Permanent Adhesive

So there's all the info! I hope you all enjoyed it! ^^

Card Series!... Kind of :)

So, I've really been into card-making these days. I think it's because since I have a pretty much full-time job and not enough time for really long time-consuming projects like mini-albums, cards can be really simple, or really extravagant and you still haven't spent nearly as much time as you would working on a layout or a mini-album page!
Here's the first card I ever made

The whole reason I even made this card was so that I could participate in a challenge over at MSR. The challenge was to make a pocket card, with a few added requirements.
The pocket itself measures 5"x7" and is actually a piece of 10"x7" card stock that I folded in half and actually stitched shut on the side and bottom (one of the additional requirements).
I then layered two pieces of patterned paper onto it and punched out a little notch at the top with a circle punch before adding my focal piece, a piece of cream card stock that I first inked up with one of my Timmy Distress Inks (Vintage Photo). I just rubbed the ink pad randomly across the card stock to get this effect.
I then stamped on it using the Timmy Stampers Anonymous Nature's Elements stamp set and another set made by either MME or MAMBI (I'm not really sure if it was either actually, let me know if you know the name of this stamp set and it's maker please!, I found the set falling apart from the package at T.J. Maxx and just grabbed it! The stamps were too pretty to pass up for just $2.00) for the larger flowers you see on there. And, just like the papers, I started layering my stamps on top of each other to get this very pretty card image; kind of shabby-chic, I think.
Anyway I layered that on top of the papers and then added pieces of cut out card stock with brads on the sides (another requirement). And then finally, just a sweet little sentiment on the bottom right-hand corner that I popped up with some pop dots.
The second part of this challenge was to make a tag to go inside the pocket. So i made this part pretty simple and just stitched a vellum quote onto a piece of patterned paper and then glued down onto the tag, with some more pieces of cut out card stock stuck down with some more brads (again, another requirement). And finally, a little pull tab to help slide it in and out of the pocket.

Anyway... I know this was a long explanation, but I like to be detailed about my work, so that, not only I can come back and look at it, but if others are interested in making a similar project like mine, they can just come here and read until their heart's content. I hope you all like my card, it's only the first of many (trust me, I've got a bunch saved on my pc already!). Alright everyone, I'll catch you all later! Thanks for stopping by!! ^^

XOXO

Catch up Time!

I have to admit that I haven't been doing really well with any kind of regular posting on my blog. My brain thinks that having a blog means that I have to post something new everyday, and that if I can't do that, then I shouldn't do it at all. I know that's not the case, so I'm trying to convince myself otherwise.
Meanwhile, I've been making project after project (mostly cards lately) and have had nowhere to share them. I joined the StampTV ning site about a month ago, but only now just started actively participating in their card-making challenges, and I'm having so much fun with it!
I've thought about making YouTube videos too, but I'm not sure if I could handle working on a blog and a YouTube channel at the same time for now. The real problem with me is that my attention comes and goes, sometimes I can stay really focused and work for hours and hours, and other times I just want things done now and if it's not, I just move onto something else.
I'd really like to be able to make a business out of selling my projects one day, but I realize I have to start small first, maybe reopen up my etsy shop and post my cards up there, ebay, flea markets, small privately owned shops, at least start somewhere.
Well, I'm going to start here, I'm going to make a real effort to at least post up all of my current projects over the next few days, after I get over that bump, hopefully the rest will come naturally!
Thanks for listening to my ranting and raving, even if this is just to mostly myself for the time being, for anyone taking the time to subscribe or even just read my blog casually, thank you for listening to me. It means the world and more to me! ^^
Anyway, on to the next post!

Happy crafting everyone!
